I'm fortunate enough to have a couple friends in the Jacksonville area, so after I parked the truck for the night, they picked me up and we went out to dinner.
Time for a good night's sleep before the fun begins tomorrow morning.
After working a few years in a professional environment, my job fell victim to the burst of the housing bubble and subsequent economic downturn. The upside was that I finally had the opportunity to try something I had long wanted to do - drive a tractor-trailer. This is my story as it happened.

A puddle of fluid, that sounds familiar.
The fluid appeared to be engine oil, though I am happy to report it seems to have been from another truck, as I haven't noticed it since. It does, however, have a slow power-steering fluid leak. Fixing that will most likely require some downtime at a Freightliner dealer (usually a lengthy ordeal), so for now I'm going with the band-aid approach of adding fluid.
